Suggested donation $12 - snacks and refreshments available - open mic to follow. Violinist Diane Perry Returns to Playing in the "Broke but not Broken" Tour. "Nothing is scarier for a musician than hurting her hands," says violinist, songwriter, and vocalist Diane Perry. And unfortunately for her, Perry recently broke a bone in her left hand and fractured a finger on her right hand--devastating injuries for the Juilliard-trained musician. The good news is she is expected to make a full recovery. Under the care of Dr. O. Alton Barron , who for more than 20 years has specialised in treating the hands of talented musicians such as the members of the New York Philharmonic, Perry had a pin surgically inserted into the fourth metacarpal of the left hand, and a splint put on the ring finger on the right hand. The bad news is she has no health insurance, will need hand therapy, and is already receiving some substantial medical bills. To help defray the costs, Perry is staging a series of fundraisers, which she has named the "Return to Playing: Broke but not Broken" tour. She is asking for donations, and will also have t-shirts sporting an x-ray of her broken hand, as well as copies of her long-awaited debut solo CD available for purchase.
